Chantel Malone wins in Madrid

Asafa Powell finished 7th, but Kemar Mowatt and Chantel Malone were Caribbean winners at today’s (25 Aug) IAAF World Challenge Meeting in Madrid, Spain.

Powell, who ran 10.15 to win his semi-final heat, returned with 10.26 in the final. Michael Rodgers won the event in 9.97s ahead of Jimmy Vicaut of France 10.05

Mowatt came out on top in the men’s 400m hurdles. He won in 48.89 ahead of Khallifah Rosser (USA) 49.08.

Malone of British Virgin Islands (BVI) took the women’s long jump with 6.56m. Jamaican Chanice Porter 6.51 finished second

In the women’s 100m, world champion Tori Bowie finished 3rd in 11.09. The event went to Catharina Horn (RSA) 11.01. Bahamian Tynia Gaither (bah) was 4th in 11.22

Two men, Emmanuel Bamidele (QAT) 44.85 and Abbas Abubakker (BRN) 44.90 dipped under 45 seconds in the men’s 400m

Andrew Riley ran 13.84 for sixth in the men’s 110m hurdles, which went to Orlando Ortega 13.32
