PHILADELPHIA — Jamaica’s Hydel High School showcased their relay dominance once again at the Penn Relays 2024, claiming victory in the High School Girls’ 4×400 Championship of America held at Franklin Field. The team was winning their 3rd straight title and five in six years.

Hydel’s quartet of Jody-Ann Daley, Abigail Campbell, Nastassia Fletcher, and Alliah Baker delivered a scintillating performance, clocking an impressive time of 3 minutes and 34.78 seconds. The race saw Bullis School from Maryland putting up a strong challenge, finishing closely behind Hydel with a time of 3:35.17. Tatum Lynn, Sydney Sutton, Kennedy Brown, and Morgan Rothwell displayed remarkable teamwork and determination throughout the relay.

Union Catholic from New Jersey secured the third position in 3:41.75. Taylor Aska, Sydney Chadwick, Abriyah Thompson, and Rhia Randolph made up their team.

Edwin Allen with Natasha Fox, Kelly-Ann Carr, Shanique Beckford, and Tonyan Beckford put on a valiant effort but fell short of the podium with 3:43.62.

St. Elizabeth Tech and Timber Creek from New Jersey rounded out the top six, finishing fifth and sixth respectively. Despite facing tough competition, both teams displayed determination and grit throughout the race.
