
MIAMI, Florida – Jamaica’s world U20 sprint double champion Briana Williams shared her academic achievements on Tuesday, January 14. Williams attends Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Fla.
Williams posted her “The Northeast High School Honor Roll certificate” which explained she was “awarded this certificate for earning A 3.5 G.P.A or higher during the first quarter of the academic year 2019-2020.”
The certificate was dated December 12, 2019, under the signature of Rafael Rivera, Jr., assistant principal designee.
The 17-year-old sprinter, who has two more years of junior eligibility, last year announced she She forego the remainder of her junior career.
In 2018, she became the first Jamaican to win the World U20 sprint double title.
Williams, in 2018 and 2019 won three sprint gold medals at the Carifta Games, took the Austin Sealy Award on both occasions.
