Jamaica Athletics Invitational - Dalilah Muhammad breaks world 400m hurdles record at USA Trials

KINGSTON – Former world record holder and 2016 Olympic 400m hurdles champion Dalilah Muhammad has confirmed her participation at the upcoming Jamaica Athletics Invitational.

Muhammad, who also claimed a silver medal at the Tokyo Games and is a two-time world champion, is one of several international stars set to grace the event.

Joining Muhammad are notable Jamaican athletes who have made significant impacts in their respective events. Among them are Alana Ried, the national junior record holder in the 100m; Olympian Briana Williams, also competing in the 100m; Bouwahgue Nkumie, the Jamaican national record holder in the 100m; and Sandrey Davison, currently the fastest Jamaican over the distance.

Athletes’ Liaison, Marvin Anderson is pleased with the confirmed list to date and is excited at the “level of competition the athletes and fans should experience. We are anticipating a very competitive series on the track and in the field.” 

The event, scheduled for May 11, promises an exhilarating evening of athletics from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. Tickets are already available online, with physical ticket locations opening on May 4. Prices are set at $3,000 for Grandstand seats and $2,500 for other areas, while admission to the Bleachers is free.

The meet will also feature an after-party, providing fans an opportunity to celebrate alongside their favorite athletes, rounding out what is expected to be a highlight event in this year’s athletics calendar.
