Fraser-Pryce, the 2014 world indoor champion, easily beat Ahoure, 7.16 to 7.22

Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce secured a significant victory over indoor specialist Murielle Ahoure at Saturday’s (15 Feb) Muller Indoor Grand Prix at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

Fraser-Pryce, the 2014 world indoor champion, easily beat Ahoure, 7.16 to 7.22 at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Series Meeting.

Ahoure, the 2018 World Indoor champion, was second to Fraser-Pryce in Sopot 2014. Ahoure was also second at the World Indoor Championships 2012.

Natasha Morrison, the other Jamaican in the field, finished 3rd in 7.30secs.

World youth 200m record-holder Amy Hunt of Great Britain took 4th place in 7.36.

Julian Forte of Jamaica, 6.81s, in the men’s 60m dash won by Ronnie Baker of USA, 6.50.

Andrew Pozzi of Great Britain topped the men’s 60m hurdles in 7.57 ahead of Yaqoub Mohamed Al Youha 7.61.

Alina Talay of Belgium, 8.03 beat American world 100m hurdles champion Nia Ali, who recorded the same time, in the 60m obstacle.
