Warren Weir and Jevaughn Minzie have decided to leave Racers Track Club. Weir is leaving to join Lance Brauman’s group in Florida, USA while Minzie has switch to MVP.

Racers Track Club president and head coach, Glen Mills, was quoted by The Gleaner saying, Weir “is really not happy with the current climate in Jamaica, and feels he is a target.”

“He wants to take a breather from the country,” explained Mills.

Weir achievements

Weir won 200m bronze behind Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake at the London 2012 Olympic Games. He followed it up with silver at the Moscow 2013 World Championships.

However, since he has struggled to challenge for a medal at international meets.

Minzie, according to Mills, “he said that he will be moving to MVP.”
“I didn’t ask him why. I just wished him well,” said Mills.

The former Bag Walk athlete has a personal best of 10.02
