Jamaica’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games silver medallist Chrisann Gordon-Powell is pregnant.

Gordon-Powell, who won silver in the 4x400m for Jamaica at the Olympic Games in 2016, announced on her social media page recently.

Announcement of Pregnancy

“This new year, a new adventure is about to begin. I can’t wait to meet you,” she posted under a photo of a baby outfit with the words “Baby Powell” and a painting, “Can’t wait to meet you, coming May 2023.”

Gordon-Powell was also part of Jamaica’s historic gold medal-winning team at the Beijing 2015 World Championships. She also had Pan Am Games silver medal in the same event from Toronto 2015.

She is the NACAC U23 400m champion from San Salvador 2016. She is the Pan Am Junior 400m champion from 2011 Miramar.

Transition to the 800m

In 2022, Gordon switched to the 800m at the Jamaica Trials and represented the country at the Oregon 2022 World Championships. She failed to advance to the semi-finals of the 800m in Eugene.
