Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson-Herah looked impressive during Thursday’s opening round of the women’s 100m at the Jamaica Olympic Trials.

World 100m champion Fraser-Pryce, in heat 1 with a 1.1m/s tailwind, cruised across the line in 10.97 seconds. She was in total control from about 50m.
Thompson-Herah, the defending Olympic Games 100m/200m champion, ease down about 80 meters and eased across the line in 10.96.
Natalliah Whyte followed Thompson-Herah across the line in 11.14.
However, the day’s fastest time came from Shericka Jackson, who ran 10.91 to take heat 3. The mark was a huge personal best for the Doha World 400m bronze medallist.
