Michael Rabar, chief executive of Nairobi 2020 World Athletics U20 Championships organising committee, has insisted preparation is on schedule.

Following reports of “no work” on the Moi International Stadium, which will host the event on 7-12 July next year, he said: “The next inspection tour is in February.”

“We will have done what World Athletics want us to do, and we are hopeful to meet their expectations,” he added.

“Nothing is lagging, repairs and renovation works have started at the competitions facility, I want to assure the country there is no need to panic,” Xinhua is reporting.
