Shaunae Miller-Uibo is happy with her personal best and silver medal effort in the women’s 400m final at the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

Miller-Uibo, on Thursday (3 Oct), went into the women’s 400m final as the overwhelming favourite. She finished in a NACAC Area record 48.37 and had to settle for the silver medal.

Salwa Eid Naser, the 21-year-old from Bahrain, became the third-fastest female 400m runner in history as she earned gold in 48.14.

Miller-Uibo commented: “To run a time like that and not to win is incredible.”

“I think I let her get away from me a little too much, but I got a huge personal best, so I have to be happy with that. She ran a crazy race.”
