Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson 200m clash will headline Birmingham Diamond League on Sunday (18 Aug). Thompson, the Jamaican sprint double champion, is also the 2016 Olympic 100/200m winner while Fraser-Pryce won both sprints at the 2013 World Championships.

Two-time world champion Dafne Schippers and treble European champion Dina Asher-Smith will also face the starter, organisers said today.

Olympic and world champion Omar McLeod (JAM) and Wenjun Xie (CHN) will clash in the men’s 110m hurdles.

Pan Am Games champion Natoya Goule (JAM) will run the 800m.

A total of 60 global medallists will compete in Birmingham.

The men’s javelin includes Germans Andreas Hofmann, Johannes Vetter, Thomas Rohler and Estonia’s world leader Magnus Kirt.

Jamaican world leader Danielle Williams and world record holder Kendra Harrison are the headliners in the women’s 100m hurdles field.

World record-holder Beatrice Chepkoech from Kenya heads the women’s 3000m steeplechase.

World indoor champion Ivana Spanovic from Serbia is a late addition to the long jump line-up, and Matt Hudson-Smith makes his season’s debut in the 400m.
