Noah Lyles has been named the US Male Athlete of the Year by Track and Field News for the third consecutive year, following his victories in 2018 and 2019.

World 200m champion Lyles is only the fifth athlete in the history of the poll to win the award more than twice, with the others being Carl Lewis, Michael Johnson, Edwin Moses, and Ashton Eaton.

Ryan Crouser came in second place, while Michael Norman placed third, narrowly beating out Fred Kerley and Joe Kovacs. Crouser won the men’s shot put ahead of Kovacs at the Eugene 2022 World Championships, while Norman won the 400m.
The remainder of the top ten included Grant Holloway, Chris Nilsen, Grant Fisher, Rai Benjamin, and Erriyon Knighton.
