South American Championships

SAO PAULO (BRA): Brazil will host two South American Championships in Athletics in 2023. The South American senior championships will be held at the Olympic Center in São Paulo from July 28 to 30 and the South American Cross Country in the city of Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, on January 22.

This information was confirmed by the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Athletics Confederation (CBA), Wlamir Motta Campos. Information came on the eve of the South American Under-18 Championships where the special guest was World Athletics president Sebastian Coe.

“It’s great to be back in Brazil. I was here for the last time in 2019, with my friends from the South American Athletics Federation in Manaus. Even more in an important championship in which we see the performance of the future of our sport. It’s very important to see this structure set up for young people so that they don’t leave the sport,” said Coe.
