The event, set for the Grand Bahama Sports Complex in Freeport, Bahamas, will run from August 19-21.
Who will compete at the NACAC Championships?
Jamaica’s World 200m champion Jackson will be running the 100m, and Bahamas’ world 400m champion Miller-Uibo is sticking to her pet event.
World Championships women’s hammer gold medalist Brooke Andersen headlines USA’s team for NACAC Open Championships in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
Kara Winger, who won the javelin silver in Eugene, and hammer bronze medalist Janee Kassanavoid are also in Team USA’s squad.
Shane Brathwaite, who won silver for Barbados at the Commonwealth Games, will be in the men’s 110m hurdles.
Commonwealth Games 400m hurdles champion Kyron McMaster is the man to beat in the one-lap obstacle.
Jamaica’s former world long jump champion Tajay Gayle will also be in action. Fedrick Dacres, who won silver at the Doha 2019 World Championships, will be in the discus.
Eugene relay gold medalists Bryce Deadmon, Jaide Stepter, and Kaylin Whitney will also add strength to Team USA.
NACAC’s competition/technical director Mike Serralto said over 400 have entered to compete this weekend.
Team US has 80 competitors that account for the most significant number of athletes, followed by Canada and Jamaica. The Bahamas has some 40 competitors.
