Mo Farah announced plans to return to track and field to challenge for a third consecutive Olympic title over 10,000m in Tokyo 2020.

The Brit, who moved up to marathon after his world track title in 2017, said in a YouTube video: “Next year, Tokyo 2020, I’m going to be back on track.”

“I’m really excited to be competing back on the track and to give it a go in the 10,000m,” he added.

“Hopefully I haven’t lost my speed, but I will train hard for it and see what I can do.”

If he can add to his two titles over 5000m, he would become the first triple Olympic winner over 10,000m.
