Jamaica Confirmed for 4x100m and 4x400m at Penn Relays

Jamaica’s track and field stars will once again be on display at the prestigious Penn Relays in the United States, as the nation confirms its participation in both the 4×100 and 4×400 meters relay events. These races are anticipated to be highlights of the meet scheduled for later this month.

World Athletics‘ head of competition management, Pierce O’Callaghan, has expressed strong support for the inclusion of these global relay events at the Penn Relays. O’Callaghan highlighted the strategic timing of the event, stating, “Bringing a top level competition opportunity at ‘Penns’ for many of the national relay teams, one week before the World Athletics relay in the Bahamas, is a win-win for everyone.” This move underscores the significance of the Penn Relays as a preparatory platform for teams gearing up for the World Athletics relay.

In addition to the high-speed action on the track, this year’s Penn Relays Carnival will introduce a Coaches Expo for the first time, marking the event’s commitment to innovation and growth. The 128th edition of the Penn Relays, a cornerstone event in track and field, will take place at Franklin Field Stadium in Philadelphia from April 25 to 27.
