PHILADELPHIA- Jamaican teams continued their dominance in the Penn Relays 2024 High School Girls’ 4×100 Championship of America, with Hydel securing the top spot in a tightly contested race at Franklin Field.

Hydel, represented by Shemonique Hazle, Alliah Baker, Shania Myers, and Jody-Ann Daley, clinched victory with a time of 44.71 seconds. Their seamless baton exchanges and explosive speed down the track showcased their prowess in the relay discipline.
In a close second, Edwin Allen, another Jamaican powerhouse, finished with a time of 44.96 seconds. The team comprising Trezeguet Taylor, Theianna-Lee Terrelonge, Renecia Edwards, and Jounee Armstrong displayed impressive teamwork and determination throughout the race.
St. Jago, also from Jamaica, secured the third position with a time of 45.14 seconds. The quartet consisting of Briana Campbell, Adora Campbell, Bryana Davidson, and Quanna Walker demonstrated resilience and skill on the track.
The competition saw Archbishop John Carroll from Washington, D.C., finishing in fourth place with a time of 45.15 seconds. Jasmine Cook, Jasmine Sharps, Simisola Balogun, and Naaema Solomon showcased their speed and coordination in an impressive display of athleticism.
Rounding out the top five was Wolmer’s Girls, another Jamaican contingent, who finished with a time of 45.37 seconds. Tianna Marshall, Abigayle Wolfe, Natrece East, and Mikayla Gardner put on a commendable performance.
Holmwood Tech, also from Jamaica, claimed the sixth spot with a time of 45.77 seconds, followed by IMG Academy from Florida in seventh place with a time of 46.14 seconds.
The event witnessed fierce competition from Union Catholic from New Jersey, who finished in ninth place with a time of 46.19 seconds.
