American sprinters Sha’Carri Richardson and Twanisha Terry put in blazing performances at the 2023 Miramar Invitational, clocking wind-aided times of 10.75 and 10.89 seconds, respectively, to advance to the finals on Saturday (8 April).
Richardson, who dominated the third heat, left behind USA teammate English Gardner (11.09) and Jamaica’s Natasha Morrison (11.13), while Terry emerged victorious in the first heat, finishing ahead of teammates Javianne Oliver (11.08) and Jada Baylark (11.09), as well as Jamaica’s Shockoria Wallace (11.16). Destiny Smith-Barnett won the second heat with a time of 11.11 seconds.
The 2023 Miramar Invitational, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver series event, showcased impressive performances from some of the world’s fastest women.
The finals for the women’s 100-meter dash will take place later today at 1:35 p.m. ET.
