Andrenette Knight Shines in Women's 400m Hurdles Qualifiers at Jamaica Trials

Andrenette Knight won the women’s 400m hurdles at Saturday’s (2 July) Stars and Stripes Classic in Atlanta, Georgia.

Andrenette Knight, the Jamaica trials favourite, who left entering the straight with a clear lead, returned to winning ways with 53.85 seconds.

The former Vere Tech student/athlete won the event ahead of TiaAdana Belle, 55.75 and Noelle Montcalm, 56.67.

Maere Lattin of the United States copped the men’s title with 49.04 ahead of Rivaldo Leacock, 49.49.

Damarcus Simpson leapt 7.95m for a new meeting record in the men’s long jump. He beat Tristan James, 7.81m and Jianan Wang, 7.67m.

Sandi Morris cleared 4.65 metres to win the women’s pole vault.
