Elaine Thompson leads women's 100m field at Jamaica Invitational

Elaine Thompson-Herah will not race at the Wanda Diamond League in Monaco on Friday (14 Aug).

Thompson Herah, the fastest woman in any condition this season, according to the meet website, was down to face Marie-Josee Ta Lou in the women’s 100m.

The fastest time, 10.73 (wind-aided), in this world this year was done by Thompson Herah at the Velocity Meet in Kingston last month.

On Saturday (8 Aug), Thompson Herah ran 10.88 seconds, slightly slower than Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s 10.87, both at Velocity Fest Meet 4 at the National Stadium.
