Victor Lopez has returned as President of the North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Track and Field governing body.

At Sunday's (9 August) congress in Costa Rica, it was confirmed that Lopez will lead the Association for his first full term.

He took over in 2012 following the death of then President Neville "Teddy" McCook.

Mike Sands, President of the Bahamas Federation, is the new vice president. Sands beat Noel Lynch of Barbados 19-9.

Garth Gayle, who decided against going up for the presidency, received most votes to be elected on the council. Gayle is the General Secretary of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA).

Gayle said: "I want to thank the late Neville teddy McCook, Howard Aris, Lenford Levy, current President and members of the Jaaa family for the support."
"NACAC is an important organisation in the region and I am proud to serve all 31 countries for the next four years," added Gayle.

Alain Jean-Pierre from Haiti stayed on as the Treasurer.
