The 2015 European Athletics Congress takes place on Saturday 11 April in Bled, Slovenia, with elections to determine the new President, Vice Presidents and Council.

The 24th European Athletics Congress is the general assembly of the Member Federations and the supreme authority of the European Athletic Association.

The Congress consists of the Council and delegates of the 50 Members Federations. Each Member Federation has one vote.

In addition to the usual formalities of the Congress, voting will take place to elect the 17 Council Members as follows: 1 President, 3 Vice Presidents, 13 Council Members.

Under the newly elected President’s leadership, these 17 people will be the driving force of European Athletics for 2015 up to 2019.

There are three official candidates for the Presidency of European Athletics: Jean Gracia (FRA), Svein Arne Hansen (NOR) and Antti Pihlakoski (FIN).

Incumbent President Hansjörg Wirz will hand over to the new President at the end of the Congress after 16 years of leading the organisation.
