KINGSTON, Jamaica – Natalie Grant won the lone final, the women’s hammer throw, contested on Saturday morning at the 2014 JAAA Supreme Ventures national Senior Championships.

Grant, who threw 57.90 metres on her first of six attempts, beat Vanessa Levy, the only other competitior in the event. Levy lone legal throw was 49.57m.

Meanwhile, Olympics and World Championships medallist Warren Weir made easy work of his competitiors to win heat one of the men's 200m in 20.85secs.

However, Sheldon Mitchell, who won heat 3, recorded the morning’s fastest time of 20.76secs. Rasheed Dwyer, who won heat five in 20.79, is the second fastest going into tonight’s semi-finals.

The afternoon’s session will start with the women’s shot put at 5 while the first track event will be the men’s 110m hurdles semi-finals at 6:30.

The female quarter-milers will grace the track for the first time tonight, their event set for 6:50pm. The men’s 400m semis is set for 7pm

The women’s 800m final with Natoya Goule and Yanique Malcolm is set for 7:25 and the men’s final at 7:30

Sherone Simpson, who failed to make the final of the women’s 100m, is down to contest the 200m, along with Kerron Stewart and Anneisha McLaughlin.
