The Jamaica Administrative Athletics Association (JAAA) has again published a strict set of rules for athletes who will be participating in trials and championships set for 2014.

 According to the JAAA, those participating in the National trials set forJune 26-29, “All Entries Close at 4:30 pm on Friday, June 20, 2014.”

Attached to the top of the electronic entry forms, it also stated clearly, “All Entries Must Be Returned to the JAAA Office, 6 Tremaine Road, Fax: (876) 946-0003 or Email: [email protected]

“Entry Forms Must Be Completed In Full On The Official Form Only.”

However, of special interest, the local governing body said, “Any Athlete Who Withdraws From An Event After Competition Has Commenced, Will Not Be Allowed To Compete In The Remainder Of The Competition.”

It also made mentioned that “The IAAF Rule Pertaining To False Start Will Be Observed, That Is Any Athlete Responsible For A False Start Will Be Disqualified Except In A Combined Event.”

In the past the JAAA has had problems with getting athletes to attend training camps and again they issued the warning, adding “It Is Mandatory To Attend All Training Camps And Participate In All Official Team Practices, Team Meetings And Other Required Team Activities.”

On the health side it stated that, “All Athletes Must Have An Updated Immunization Card.

The guidelines made mention of passport, though not pointing out Jamaican passport, “All Athletes Entering The Trials Must Be The Holder Of A Passport Valid For At Least Six (6) Months From August 01, 2014.”

Processing Fee Is $1,000 Per Athlete. No Entry Will Be Accepted Without Full Payment.

The entry form also asked athletes to list their blood type; current medication being taken; injury/illness and whether they are citizen of another country.

The meets this summer for seniors are Commonwealth Games, Glasgow, Scotland: July 23 – August 03 and Pan American Senior Championships, DF Mexico, July 31 – August 02.
