Bouwahjgie Nkrumie equalled the Jamaican Junior 100m record on Tuesday’s second day of the World Athletics U20 Championships Cali22 in Colombia.

Nkrumie, who represented Kingston College (KC) at Champs22, won his semi-final heat in 10.11 ahead of Azeem Fahmi Mudh (MAS), who finished second in 10.19.

What time Letsile Tebogo run at the World U20 Championships in Cali?

Puripol Booson (THA) recorded the fastest time of the round – 10.09, which is a national U20 record. Letsile Tebogo, who ran a championship record of 10.00secs flat in the heats, returned for 10.14 in the semi-finals.

Sandrey Davison, Jamaica’s other entrance, did not finish.

Nkrumie joined Yohan Blake and Christopher Taylor as the Jamaican U20 100m record holders. Blake ran 10.11 to win the Carifta Games title in 2007, while Taylor achieved the same time to win an Invitational U18 meeting in Kingston back in 2018.
