Sha’Carri Richardson is back! The American sprinter competed in her first race since last September on Saturday at the Duval County Challenge in Jacksonville. She was originally supposed to make her 2022 debut against Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at the Kip Keino Classic in Kenya.

Technically, it turned into two races.

In the original run, Sha’Carri she lined up next to Americans Alea Hobbs, Twanisha Terry, Tamara Clark, Marybeth Saint-Price and Jamaican Natalliah Whyte, ending up with a fourth-place finish timed in 11.37 seconds.

Due to some controversy with the weather and the wind gauge, however, a rerun was staged starting in the other direction where, despite some missing parties from the initial run, was completed with Sha’Carri Richardson winning the heat in 11.27 over Terry (11.29) and Saint-Price (11.34).

Jamaican Britany Anderson wins 100h

Jamaican Britany Anderson won the women’s 100-meter hurdles at this meet in 12.59 to best young Americans Tonea Marshall (12.76) and Chanel Brissett (12.77).

In the 400-meter hurdles, Jamaicans Shiann Salmon and Andrenette Knight led the podium, finishing in 56.06 and 56.44 seconds, respectively, with young American Anna Cockrell finishing third in 56.72.

Mario Heslop beat Andre Ewers in the Men’s 200 meters, clocking 20.76 to the Jamaican’s 21.02 seconds.

2019 World Long Jump Champion Tajay Gayle won his event by a narrow margin with a 7.83-meter jump to edge Dominican athlete Tristan James’ 7.82.
