tokyo 2020 alertsShian Salmon has expressed gratitude to be at her first Olympic Games. Salmon was among the last set of athletes to arrive for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The former Hydel High star is the reserve for the women’s 400m hurdles.

“To say I’m grateful to be at my first Olympic Games would definitely be an understatement,” wrote Salmon, who was fourth at the Jamaica Olympic Trials.

“I’m beyond grateful,” she added.

“First training session, conquered the typhoon,” her message on IG ended.

Salmon was a semi-finalist at the Doha 2019 World Championships. She won silver in the 400m hurdles at the Tampere 2018 World U20 Championships.

Janieve Russell, Ronda Whyte and Leah Nugent are the top three finishers at the Jamaica National Championships.
