Jamaican Ryan Brown won the men’s long jump. Javon Francis and Shadae Lawrence picked up minor placings at Sunday’s (6 June) USATF Showcase held at Prairie View A&M Stadium in Texas.
- Javon Francis won the men’s 200m at Back to the Track Series II
- READ Holloway ran a world-leading 13.07 to win at 17 April Tom Jones Memorial.
Brown, 8.04m and Damar Forbes, 7.97m, finished 1-2 in the men’s long jump. Tyrone Smith of Bermuda finished fourth with 7.80m.
Lawrence threw 62.48m to take second behind Valarie Allman of the USA, 67.74m in the women’s discus. Lawrence, who shattered Jamaica’s national discus record twice in the space of minutes in May, opened with 62.26m.
Joseph Brown of the USA was the men’s discus winner with 60.18m.
Francis ran 46.05 for third in the men’s 400m, won by American Wilbert London III, 45.45.
Michael Joseph of St. Lucia was eighth in 47.03, and Jamaica Ivan Henry, ninth in 47.20.

Jamaican Jahnoy Thompson ran 20.79 for second in the men’s 200m, which went to American Elijah Morrow, 20.61.
Again, Americans dominated the men’s 100m with Cordero Gray, 10.30, Nolton Shelvin, 10.40 and Bralon Robinson, 10.45.
In the 100m, Jahnoy Thompson ran a personal best 10.49 for fourth.
Americans Ashley Henderson, 11.45, Kenondra Davis, 11.55 and Candyce McGrone, 11.64, were the top finishers in the women’s 100m
Natasha Hastings wins 200/400 double
Americans Natasha Hastings, 51.45, Phyllis Francis, 52.01 and Kendall Baisden, 52.71, were the top three women’s 400m finishers.
Hastings also won the women’s 200m, running 23.09 to beat fellow Americans Henderson, 23.21, and Davis, 23.45.
Priscilla Frederick-Loomis of Antigua and Barbuda in the women’s high jump cleared 1.82m for third. Americans Inika McPherson, 1.90m and Michelle Spires, 1.82 were the top two finishers.
