LEXINGTON: Jamaican Olympian Leah Nugent improved on her personal best over 60m hurdles at the Kentucky Invitational here on Friday night (Jan 13).

Nugent, Rio Olympic Games 400m hurdles 6th place finisher, posted her best ever 60m hurdles time of 8.15 to beat Jacklyn Howell of Kentucky 8.30. Nugget’s previous best was 8.20 done in 2014.

Representing Puma, Nugent later returned to finish second in the one lap event with 53.23 behind winner Kiah Seymour 52.91.

Jaylen Bacon of Arkansas State won the men’s 60m in 6.62 while Nick Gray of Ohio State topped the men’s 200m in 20.86.

Javianne Oliver of Kentucky took the women’s 60m in 7.31. She earlier ran 7.29 in the heats.
