KINGSTON, Jamaica – World leader Veronica Campbell-Brown headlines the 23 women registered to contest the 100m dash, starting on Thursday at the JAAA Supreme Ventures Senior Championships.
Campbell-Brown, who ran the world leading mark of 10.86 in Florida last month, is the only Jamaican woman under 10 seconds this season.
Samantha Henry-Robinson, the second fastest Jamaican at 11.00, is also down to compete, but the name Remona Burchell, the world’s fourth fastest woman this season, is nowhere to be found.
Burchell, who won the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor titles this year, replied to TrackAlerts.com's story saying, "I'm not at senior champs because of health issue @ trackalerts"
Kerron Stewart, who is among the favorite to win, and Sherone Simpson, who will run her first race in almost a year, are other big names in the line-up.
Schillonie Calvert, Carrie Russell and Trisha-Ann Hawthorne are also listed for the event, which may also have semi-finals and final.
Below is the list of the athletes entered for the women's 100m dash.
