The women’s 200m entry list for the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 is confirmed with Shericka Jackson, Christine Mboma and Elaine Thompson-Herah.

Jackson, just last week, was crowned world 200m champion. She ran a championship and Jamaica record 21.45 to beat fellow Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, 21.81. Jackson was second and Thompson-Herah, third to Fraser-Pryce in the women’s 100m.

Thompson, the Olympic sprint double champion, won bronze in the Oregon22 World Athletics Championships women’s 100m.

Mboma, who pulled up running against Fraser-Pryce at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi in May, missed the Oregon22 World Athletics Championships. She is on the confirmed 200m runners list for the Commonwealth Games.

Who will be missing in action from the Commonwealth Games 2022?

Meanwhile, Olympic 200m champion Andre De Grasse is among the high-profile withdrawals from the Canadian team for the Commonwealth Games.

Pierce LePage, Aaron Brown and Jerome Blake have also pulled out. “These athletes have had a challenging World Athletics Championships in hot weather conditions and unfortunately must withdraw from the 2022 Commonwealth Games to properly recover and prepare for the rest of the season,” said Athletics Canada in a statement.

Also, Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra has pulled out of the javelin at the Commonwealth Games due to injury.
