TAMPA, USA – Bahamian Olympic Games 4x400m gold medallist Michael Mathieu won the men’s 100m at Friday’s USF Invitational.

Mathieu topped the field, which included mostly amateurs, in 10.25 (+2.8m/s wind). Alfred Higgs, running unattached, won heat 10 in 10.49 (1.7m/s wind), which gave him second place overall.

In the women’s 100m hurdles, Bahamian Adanaca Brown took top honours in 13.44. Mariah Johnson of Northwood (Fla.) was second in 14.11.

American Calvin Smith 21.25 was beaten in the men’s 200m by Talyn Washington of Nova Southeastern 20.98.

In the men’s 400m, 2008 Olympic medalist in sprints Walter Dix tested himself in the 400m but was beaten by Emanuel Mayers 47.84 to 47.86.
