Jamaica continued to showcase its track and field prowess by sweeping the mile relay events at the CARIFTA Games 2024 held at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada.

The Jamaican teams left spectators in awe as they surged to victory in all four categories of the 4x400m relays to close out the 51st Carifta Games.

In the Girls 4×400 Meter Relay Under 17, Jamaica’s formidable quartet of Britannia Bailey, Nastassia Fletcher, Kevongaye Fowler, and Tresha Lee Sutherland blazed across the finish line, clinching gold with an impressive time of 3 minutes and 41.84 seconds.

The Bahamas team secured silver with a time of 3:47.13, while Trinidad and Tobago took home the bronze with a time of 3:54.49.

The Boys 4×400 Meter Relay Under 17 witnessed another stellar performance from Jamaica, with Fransico Williams, Robert Miller, Keandre Kelly, and Nickecoy Bramwell securing the gold medal with a commanding time of 3 minutes and 18.43 seconds. Again, Trinidad and Tobago team earned silver with a time of 3:21.24, while Grenada claimed the bronze with a time of 3:21.92.

In the Girls 4×400 Meter Relay Under 20, Jamaica continued its reign as Abigail Campbell, Shanque Williams, Kitania Headley, and Shanoya Douglas delivered a flawless performance, crossing the line in first place with a swift time of 3 minutes and 34.69 seconds. Trinidad and Tobago finished in second place with a time of 3:47.51, while Barbados secured third place with a time of 3:48.21.

The Boys 4×400 Meter Relay Under 20 category saw Jamaica’s quartet of Kemarrio Bygrave, Marcinho Rose, Javaughn Pinnock, and Jaquan Coke cementing their country’s dominance with a remarkable time of 3 minutes and 10.58 seconds, securing yet another gold medal. Trinidad and Tobago earned silver with a time of 3:11.10, while Guyana “A” team earned the bronze with a time of 3:14.05.
