Blake, who made history in 2011 when he became the youngest sprinter to win the 100m at the World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea, disclosed to Insidethegames.org recently.
“Paris 2024 should be my last dance,” Blake said.
In addition to his Olympic medals, Blake holds the world record for the 4x100m relay race, set at the London 2012 Olympics. In 2018, he won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, while at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, he finished sixth in the 100m semi-final, and the 4x100m relay team placed fifth in the final.
At the World Athletics Championships in Eugene last year, Blake failed to reach the final of either the 100m or 200m, and Jamaica finished fourth in the 4x100m.
Blake, who will be 33 by the time of Paris 2024, said: “Doing the 200, 100, and relays simply takes a lot out of you, so these are the events I want to focus on.”
