Jamaica won three gold and a bronze during Saturday’s opening session at the 43rd Carifta Games here at the at the Stade Pierre Aliker in Fort de France, Martinique

Rochelle Frazer pocketed the first gold for Jamaica when she put the shot 13.63 metres in the Under-20 final. Jess St John (ANT) 13.26 and Portious Warren (TTO) 13.63M got the other medals.

Janel Fullerton (JAM) took the U18 discus 46.47m, ahead of Chelsea James (TTO) 43.53m and Devia Brown (JAM) 43.31m.

Jamaica’s 3rd gold came from Lamara Destin who cleared 1.68m wto win the under18 girls high 

Meanwhile, Grenada finished 1-2 in U18 boys javelin with Anderson Peters 67.67m and Mickel Joseph 67.23m. Bahamian Travis Ferguson 60.40m took the bronze.

The finals of the 100m and 400m will be on later in session 2
