BEIJING, China – Jamaica won the women’s 4×400 metres at the World Championships here on Sunday.

Christine Day gave Jamaica the lead when she handed over to Shericka Jackson who opened up a huge margin over rivals United States of America.

The United States individual gold medalist Alyson Felix then cut that lead before passing Stephenie-Ann McPherson in the final 40 metres to be the first to handover. However, likewise Novlene Williams-Mills then ran past Franceana McCorory in the final 30 metres to claim victory. 

Jamaica won in 3:19.13 seconds with the United States doing 3:19.44 and Great Britain 3:23.62 for third.
