A fast time is expected in the men’s 100m at Saturday’s Ponce Grand Prix meeting.
Trinidad & Tobago’s Keston Bledman, who led the world with 10.01 for almost three weeks, is here and would want to make a statement. Add to that, Bledman would want to enter the sub-10 club, the mark of the high profile sprinters. In his first two 100m races, he ran 9.97 and 9.94 in April, but both runs were aided by positive 3.6m/s and 3.4m/s wind factors, respectively.
Apart from Bledman, St. Kitts and Nevis' Antoine Adams, who ran a wind aided 10.07 at the Texas Relays in March, should be right in the mix.
Also, American Maurice Mitchell and Harris Adams, along with Guyanese Adam Harris, should fancy their chances among this group.
Jamaicans Jermaine Brown and Allan Burton, along with the St. Kitts and Nevis trio Hakeem Huggins, Brijesh Lawrence and Delwayne Delaney are also listed for the event, along with Chavaughn Walsh of Antigua.
