KINGSTON, Jamaica – King of track and field, Usain Bolt says it has become a regular thing for American Justin Gatlin to threaten to beat him.

“I’m going to win. We are bringing it (gold medal) back to the USA. We are going to bring it back to the USA, to LA to New York,” said Gatlin last month.

“We are going on a tour around the country with it around my neck like a gold chain.”

However, according to Bolt, these utterances from Gatlin are becoming a regular thing. "I’m used to it, it’s a thing that he does every year,” the megastar added.

In eight clashes over 100m, including last year’s World Championships where Bolt came away champion, Gatlin has only won once.

The twice drug test failed, Gatlin continued: “Last year was a nail-biter to the finish line at the World Championships. He won over me by a hundredth of a second, so I am the closest threat he has ever had. So right now I am working to be better than that.”

Bolt replied, “he is a great competitor and all, and I am always looking forward to compete against him.”

The world record holder for 100m at 9.58 and 200m at 19.19, Bolt continued: “I never take him lightly because I know he is going hard and I am also working hard to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
