On July 10th, 2016 the stage is set from 4pm to 9pm at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium for the Second Annual Blue Marlin Track and Field Classic hosted by NSCG and sanctioned by the BAAAs.

The Blue Marlin Track and Field Classic is the beginning of a new- age, regional meet that will be held once a year. Over 2000plus spectators will witness elite Junior and Senior Bahamian athletes compete against international athletes to prepare them for the upcoming World Junior and Olympic Games.

The “Last Chance Meet” will give athletes the opportunity to compete one last time before the Olympics in Rio 2016.

Last year, senior and junior athletes extended their season after posting seasonal-best times in their events. The meet also showcased Olympic Gold medalists Melanie Walker (JAM) and Ramon Miller; Olympic silver medallist, Andretti Bain; Olympic bronze medalist, Leevan Sands, along with a host of other Olympians including Lavern Spencer (St. Lucia), Rafeeq Curry (USA) and Ryan Ingraham.

In continuing with our mission to engage top athletes, the Blue Marlin Track and Field Classic promises a high level, Last Chance meet that will include a spectacular relay section.
