Miller 22.61 PB; Ferguson beats Stewart

Shaunae MillerAUBURN – Bahamian world junior and youth gold medallist Shaunae Miller won the womens 200m at War Eagle Invitational with a personal best 22.61s (+1.2).

In the womens 100m, Sheniqua Ferguson with 11.26s (+1.8) beat Jamaican Olympic medalist Kerron Stewart 11.27s and reigning world junior champion Anthonique Strachan of Bahamas 11.47s.

Lavern Spencer of St. Lucia cleared 1.90m in the womens high jump for the win while second went to Nigerian Doreen Amata, also at 1.90m.

In the mens high jump, Bahamian Ryan Ingraham equaled his personal best of 2.28m.

World championship medalist at 100m Derrick Atkins ran 20.96s (+4.6) in the 200m.

Meanwhile in Austin, Texas, Jamaican Patricia Hall completed a good double, this time at Longhorn Invitational with 22.98s (+2.8) and 51.57s in the womens 200m and 400m respectively. In both races, Kineke Alexander of St. Vincent placed second with 23.32s and 51.63s.

Antoine Adams of St. Kitts won the mens 200m in 20.71s (+0.9).
