KINGSTON: The world’s fastest human, Usain Bolt, now Ambassador-at-Large, further demonstrates his love for Jamaica and his people by inviting a galaxy of world class celebrities to his “9.58 Super Party”, a self-imposed effort to showcase his home country and from which proceeds will be channelled through the United Way program to benefit charities to which he has aligned himself.
These include the purchase of land to build a health centre in his native Trelawny district of Sherwood Content, which was faced with its loss.
The spectacle, set for Richmond Estate in St. Ann on December 5, expected to be an annual affair, is dubbed “an unforgettable once in a lifetime party experience” and will feature “an exceptional blend of music, top class achievers and performers, combined with the spirit of giving”.
The night’s activity will feature the reggae beat and dancehall music in an exciting melange with hip hop and R&B, and will draw on internationally acclaimed stars like The Dream, Beanie Man, Etana, Sly and Robbie and a host of other top rank performers. Popular dancers such as Mystic, Kieva and Ding Dong have been invited to ‘’strut their stuff”. To add to the fare there will be an exchange of gifts between the host himself with members of the Marley Family and Bolt, who will be the main host will make autographed presntations to the world of invited celebrities.
A peek at the list of invitees who will be asked to contribute to the United Way project in a special segment allowed for these presentations, reveals the following names:-
